Fill in lines, folds, and so much more! FAQs about confidence-boosting dermal fillers
It has never been easier and more comfortable to restore your skin’s youthful contours, softness, smoothness, and overall quality. Led by a skilled specialist, Dr. Vanessa Johnson, ShadeTree Dermatology may select from a sizeable suite of products and therapies to renew your skin without surgery. Options at our offices in Cocoa Beach and Rockledge, Florida, include dermal fillers.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal or soft tissue fillers are a category of injectable treatments. They may be introduced to lined, wrinkled, depressed, and sunken areas of the face to boost volume and definition and effectively “fill in” folds.
What types of fillers are available?
Several fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally occurring molecule. Because HA is found in the skin and joints, the risk of adverse allergic reactions and other unwanted side effects is minimized. HA-based fillers are perhaps more popularly known by brands such as the Juvéderm and Restylane family of fillers. Additionally, some fillers are also categorized as “collagen stimulators.” They are associated with long-lasting results. Their formulations contain active ingredients which trigger the production of collagen deep in the skin. The production of this firming natural protein falls off with age. But, with certain fillers, fresh collagen can be produced to renew saggy, wrinkled skin and poorly defined and hollow areas that betray our age or make us look older than our chronological years.
There are lots of fillers! What might be best for me?
By evaluating your skin and concerns, our talented team is provided with clues as to the best product to bring out and restore your one-of-a-kind and natural beauty. We consider everything from the specific aesthetic concern to be treated to the locations and severity of your trouble areas. Of course, we will also review any potential side effects, healing, downtime, and expectations for results with you. With these and other injectable treatments, recovery is minimized as they are considered to be well-tolerated and non-invasive alternatives to surgical or more aggressive cosmetic procedures.
How long do fillers last?
No filler or injectable treatment is a permanent fix. But, here again, the duration varies widely depending on the type of filler being used. Other factors include how your body metabolizes the product and how well you care for your skin! ShadeTree Dermatology takes great pride in working with patients across the Cocoa Beach and Rockledge, Florida, areas to maintain their bright, shiny, renewed, and dazzling results. This includes guidance on maintenance treatments and, especially, on good preventive and tailored skincare. And, always know that your treatment will be performed precisely and to the highest standards of care and safety. Our patients never have to worry about looking “different” or “overdone” following treatment. They look like the best possible version of themselves!
